Job Description
The role involves engaging with automotive and manufacturing clients to develop and deliver innovative data storage and IT solutions, providing technical leadership, strategic guidance, and fostering strong client relationships to support their digital transformation efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop end-to-end solutions and use cases for automotive manufacturing and digital services.
- Manage stakeholder relationships, understand their goals, challenges, and communicate effectively.
- Calculate and explain Total Cost of Ownership scenarios aligned with customer challenges.
- Lead large IT projects, collaborate with sales, engineering, and product teams, and establish as a trusted advisor.
- Create client collateral such as presentations, demonstrations, proofs of concept, and joint offerings.
- Guide the sales team in positioning, shaping, and closing solutions in a competitive environment.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring within the regional Systems Engineering organization.
- Track industry trends, analyze the competitive landscape, and incorporate insights into strategy and solutions.
- Promote and support a customer-first and inclusive culture within the organization.
Requirements
- Experience of driving cultural change in organizations and keeping up with the latest industry trends, with the ability to quickly learn new business models and drivers.
- A senior level technical Solutions Architect background with experience working with and focusing on strategic clients, particularly in Automotive and Manufacturing sectors.
- Broad and deep IT industry experience, especially in Automotive, Tier 1 suppliers, ecosystems, and the wider Manufacturing supply chain, with a high degree of business acumen.
- Ability to work closely with customers to build trusted relationships, including frequent travel within Germany, and to identify and quantify outcome-based opportunities from the portfolio.
- Knowledge across industry, business, IT strategy, use cases, and technology domains, with the ability to present to C-Suite clients, discuss processes with business managers, and work with developers on solution strategy, architecture, and code.
- Experience designing operating models from boardroom to storage operations and creating value propositions linked to clients’ business models, challenges, issues, and future vision.
- Expertise in translating core values, differentiators, and capabilities into client value propositions, including articulating customer success stories and benefits with known outcomes to multiple stakeholder levels.
- First-class interpersonal skills with a comfortable, open, and compelling communication and presentation style, combined with high emotional intelligence, diplomacy, and empathy.
- Strong technical background across infrastructure and data storage, compute, databases, networking, virtualization, and cloud-native architectures, with solid experience in data management and storage technologies supporting mission-critical workloads in Automotive and Manufacturing.
- Understanding of key manufacturing processes, outcomes, and the Automotive value chain, including OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, production plants, logistics, and digital services.
- Familiarity with areas such as data analytics, data science, modern IT architecture modeling, Agile and DevOps, automation, infrastructure as code, IT operations, and IT security, with the ability to quickly learn new platforms, tools, and architectures and translate them into business-relevant language.
- Experience working with large, global, or strategic accounts, ideally in or with German enterprise customers, with the ability to move between big picture strategy and detailed technical solutions, structuring complex problems into clear options and recommendations.
- Outstanding communication skills in German and English, with confidence in presenting to C-level executives, senior business leaders, and technical teams, and facilitating workshops with diverse perspectives.
- High emotional intelligence, empathy, and diplomacy to build trust and foster collaborative discussions.
- Strong understanding of commercial and disruptive technology trends in the Automotive and Manufacturing markets in Germany, including knowledge of major competitors and partner ecosystems, and the ability to position Pure’s differentiators for relevant use cases.
- A growth and learning orientation, actively investing in personal development, staying curious about new technologies, methods, and industry trends, with willingness to dedicate around 10% of time to training, certifications, and industry/community events.
