This role involves designing and implementing automated testing strategies for a high-performance enterprise storage platform, ensuring product quality, reliability, and seamless upgrades through collaboration with software engineers and hands-on hardware testing.
Key Responsibilities
Architect and own comprehensive test plans and qualification strategies for high-availability storage features.
Design and develop advanced automation frameworks and tools using Python to improve testing efficiency and coverage.
Perform root cause analysis by triaging and debugging automated test failures across hardware and software components.
Identify and address critical test gaps by analyzing failure modes and designing new test scenarios.
Execute interoperability testing, firmware updates, and upgrade path qualification to ensure seamless deployment and backwards compatibility.
Requirements
Expert-level proficiency in defining and implementing systems test strategies and comprehensive test plans for complex enterprise storage features.
Demonstrated mastery in test automation, including strong hands-on experience using Python to design, build, and maintain automation frameworks.
Deep knowledge of the storage stack, including high availability, caching, flash drives, RAID, deduplication, compression, and a solid understanding of filesystems, block storage, and I/O paths.
Strong analytical skills to design failure scenarios and analyze errors for effective root cause analysis.
Working knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V.
Experience with storage protocols including Fibre Channel and iSCSI.
Experience working hands-on in hardware labs or data centers with storage arrays.
Deep understanding of customer workloads and IO tools like vdbench or iometer.
Ability to design and implement comprehensive test plans and qualification strategies for high-availability features.
Ability to execute interoperability testing, firmware updates, and upgrade path qualification with a focus on backwards compatibility and real-world customer use cases.
Willingness to work from the Santa Clara, CA office in an in-office environment in accordance with company policies.
