Job Description

This role involves leading end-to-end software development for critical system software related to data storage, including system design, hardware integration, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative and reliable storage solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end software development, including architecture, coding, testing, release, and maintenance.
  • Build and enhance system software for inventory, configuration, failover, monitoring, and enclosure management.
  • Design and implement robust interfaces between hardware and software components.
  • Collaborate with hardware teams on system power-on, bring-up, firmware management, and system availability.
  • Integrate software with hardware and existing infrastructure to ensure smooth operation.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to deliver new features and manage vendor requirements.

Requirements

  • Experience in end-to-end software development, including architecture, design, coding, debugging, release, and long-term maintenance.
  • Proficiency in C programming language.
  • Strong experience in system design and implementation of robust interfaces between software and hardware components.
  • Experience building and enhancing software for inventory, configuration, failover, monitoring, enclosure management, and event handling.
  • Ability to design and ensure smooth integration of software-hardware and application system interfaces with existing infrastructure.
  • Hands-on experience with system hardware collaboration, including system power-on, bring-up, and firmware management, including versioning, updates, and availability optimization.
  • Experience working with hardware platforms from design feedback and debugging to customer delivery and support.
  • Proficiency in working on Linux or other UNIX-like (NIX) environments.
  • Hands-on experience with CPU architectures, preferably x86.
  • Knowledge of hardware components such as BMC, BIOS, EEPROM, PCIe, SAS, and communication protocols such as I2C, SMBus, or PMBus.
  • Strong command of C and C++ programming languages.
  • Proficiency in Python is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively with distributed and cross-functional teams in a product development environment.
  • Demonstrated practical experience in hardware-related tasks from design feedback to debugging and customer support.
