Job Description
The Systems Engineering Manager for Greater China leads a technical sales team, develops regional strategies, and engages with customers to promote and tailor storage and cloud solutions, ensuring technical success and regional market adaptation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Systems Engineering team to deliver expert technical guidance on Pure Storage solutions.
- Drive technical enablement by keeping the team updated on new products, trends, and competitive positioning.
- Lead complex solution design, proof of concept, and technical deep-dives for strategic accounts.
- Build trusted relationships with enterprise customers and partners, understanding their business and technical needs.
- Advocate for customer feedback internally, including feature requests and compliance needs.
- Support sales and marketing through technical presentations, workshops, and solution demonstrations in Mandarin or Cantonese.
- Assess regional market trends and adapt offerings and messaging to suit Greater China’s regulatory and competitive landscape.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, Marketing, Partners, and Product Management to drive regional growth and ensure technical alignment.
- Manage team performance, pipeline activity, and resource forecasting to ensure operational excellence.
Requirements
- Demonstrated technical sales leadership experience ideally in storage, cloud, or enterprise software serving Greater China customers.
- Proven ability to coach and build high-performing Systems Engineering teams in a multi-country, cross-language environment.
- Deep understanding of local IT infrastructure, cloud adoption, and storage trends in Greater China.
- Strong customer-facing and presentation skills, able to tailor messages for executives and technical audiences.
- Experience working with channel partners, system integrators, and distributors in the region.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or related field.
- Fluency in Mandarin and Cantonese; English fluency is desirable.
- Ability to lead complex solution design, proof of concept, and technical deep-dives for strategic accounts.
- Ability to build trusted relationships with enterprise customers and partners by understanding their business objectives, technical requirements, and regional IT ecosystem nuances.
- Ability to support sales and marketing activities through technical presentations, workshops, and tailored solution demonstrations, often in Mandarin or Cantonese.
- Ability to assess the Greater China storage and cloud landscape, and adapt offerings and messaging to regional market trends, regulatory requirements, and competitive pressures.
- Ability to collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, Channel Partners, and Product Management to drive growth strategies and ensure technical alignment.
- Set performance goals, manage pipeline activity, and forecast resource needs across the Systems Engineering team.
- Ensure compliance with all local business, legal, and Pure Storage brand policies.
- This role requires being based in Hong Kong and being present in the office for 3 days a week, with flexibility depending on business needs.
