Job Description
The job involves developing innovative solutions for massive-scale cloud storage environments, focusing on kernel development and performance tuning. The role requires collaboration in a small team to enhance software functionality and integrate it with existing systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Full life-cycle system development
- Analyze and improve kernel regarding devices, scheduling, and memory management
- Conduct software analysis including code, requirements, and system risk
- Perform software reviews and identify code metrics
- Conduct performance tuning and improvement
- Support, maintain, and document software functionality
- Integrate software with existing systems
Requirements
- 5 or more years of software development experience.
- Proficiency in C, C++, and scripting languages such as Python and Shell.
- Experience in Linux, BSD, Solaris, AIX kernel development, embedded Linux, and/or Linux device driver experience.
- Ability to design, implement, and test product components in a highly collaborative and team-oriented environment.
- Experience in full life-cycle system development.
- Experience in analyzing and improving kernel with respect to devices, scheduling, memory management, and more.
- Experience in conducting software reviews and identification of code metrics.
- Experience in performance tuning, improvement, balancing, usability, and automation.
- Experience in integrating software with existing systems.
- Insights into x86 RAS capabilities to improve hardware resiliency.
- Experience with PCIe Gen4 architecture.
- Expertise in I/O technologies such as RDMA, NVMe, Ethernet, or protocols IP, NFS, SMB, X86 performance and scalability, and BPF.
- Willingness to work primarily in an in-office environment at the Santa Clara, CA office.
