Job Description

The role involves leading regional solutions and product engineering teams to drive revenue growth, develop technical strategies, and build strong client relationships in the data storage industry, while fostering a high-performance, innovative, and inclusive team culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Solutions and Product Specialist team to drive technical success and sales growth in the APJ region.
  • Collaborate with sales and pre-sales leadership to develop and execute regional growth strategies.
  • Engage directly with clients and lead key technical and sales engagements to establish trust and thought leadership.
  • Oversee pipeline management, forecasting, and technical analysis to support sales objectives.
  • Hire, develop, and mentor a high-performing team of system engineers and managers, ensuring skill development and performance optimization.
  • Align technical resources and messaging across cross-functional teams and regional partners.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including partners and industry networks.
  • Monitor and analyze business and team metrics to ensure achievement of sales and technical goals.
  • Ensure the technical team has the necessary skills, knowledge, and resources to meet objectives.
  • Promote and uphold the company's culture, values, and ethical standards within the team.

Requirements

  • Substantial experience of successfully leading a senior leadership role that involves orchestrating all technical resources within a region, regardless of reporting structure.
  • Proven experience in selling into large organizations and a thorough understanding of what it takes to be successful in this type of selling environment.
  • A proven pedigree of working on and leading large IT projects, including consulting, pre- and post-sales transformational IT services, or IT design and build projects in IT departments.
  • Ability to lead from the front on key client engagements and establish oneself as a thought leader and trusted advisor with key senior client stakeholders.
  • Broad base of skills and experience including being a good communicator, leader, team motivator, and working well with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in helping grow revenue within a region, including working alongside sales leadership to define and execute regional strategies for long-term, sustainable growth.
  • Experience in engaging directly with pre-sales and sales leadership to strategize on opportunities and ensure correct engagement on pre-sales activities.
  • Ability to lead, report, and analyze the pipeline and forecast from a technical perspective.
  • Experience in hiring, leading, and developing a team of System Engineers, Managers, and Systems Engineers, ensuring technical success throughout the sales process.
  • Ability to develop, improve, and maintain resources to meet and exceed sales goals while supporting customer and partner needs.
  • Experience in aligning technical message and approach across overlay functions including Channel, Data Architects, PSE, FSA, CTO, and PS organizations.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships and alignment with technical counterparts within regional Alliance and Channel partners.
  • Deep understanding of key sales metrics related to sales and how the system engineering team can contribute to improving those metrics.
  • Deep understanding of key metrics for the system engineering team and leveraging those metrics to measure team progress and achievement.
  • Ensuring system engineers have the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively execute processes, including regular performance evaluations and process optimizations.
  • Ability to foster and maintain a company culture aligned with the company's values, recognizing and rewarding outstanding behaviors and success.
  • Strong intellectual curiosity to understand customer, partner, and prospect business challenges, industry trends, and competition.
  • Effective communication skills to cascade goals and build strong relationships with cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment between pre- and post-sales activities.
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical issues and enhancement requests from customers to technical support, product management, and R&D.
  • Adaptability to analyze employee actions, identify shortcomings affecting productivity, and make necessary adjustments to operations.
  • Active participation as an executive sponsor in regional opportunities and industry events, promoting products and solutions as a thought leader.
  • Strong ethics and personal integrity, treating people with respect, caring about the company and its people.
  • Willingness to work primarily in an in-office environment at the Singapore office, in compliance with company policies.
