Key Responsibilities
As the Engineering Manager for Self-Services Upgrades (SSU) team, you will lead the engineering team responsible for Everpure’s™ core upgrade platform across FlashArray and FlashBlade ecosystems. You will own the strategy and execution that enables safe, zero-downtime software upgrades and mitigations in both connected cloud and air-gapped darksite environments. By bridging distributed backend services, on-box workflows, and cloud infrastructure, your team directly safeguards customer trust and fleet reliability. Through high-visibility cross-geo, cross-business unit, and cross-functional partnerships with Product Management, Release Engineering, Technical Services, and Fleet Insights, you will drive modern upgrade experiences for mission-critical enterprise environments globally.
Drive Strategic Upgrade Delivery: Lead end-to-end engineering across backend services, REST APIs, cloud infrastructure, on-box workflows, and release tools to deliver safe, non-disruptive software upgrades for FlashArray and FlashBlade platforms.
Lead Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate with Product Management, Release Engineering, Technical Services, and Forensics to evaluate technical trade-offs, align roadmaps, and streamline deployment workflows across shared platform stakeholders.
Build High-Performing Teams: Hire, onboard, and mentor a high-performing engineering team, cultivating an inclusive culture of technical ownership, clear accountability, and continuous professional development.
Champion Platform Reliability & Security: Define and enforce high standards for system observability, automated testing, incident response, and security compliance to ensure predictable operation across connected and darksite customer environments.
Manage Dependencies & Mitigate Risk: Identify technical bottlenecks and operational risks early, establishing clear priorities and decisive trade-offs to ensure consistent execution toward key platform milestones.
Requirements
Engineering Management: Demonstrated experience guiding, developing, and managing high-performing software engineering teams while building a collaborative, inclusive, and accountable engineering culture.
Technical Acumen: Demonstrated software engineering background building high-throughput distributed systems and customer-facing software, with the technical credibility to guide system architecture reviews, resolve technical trade-offs, and facilitate sound engineering decisions.
Stakeholder & Global Collaboration: Proven success partnering effectively within cross-functional collaboration models across geographically distributed engineering, product, architecture, and security teams, with the ability to align dependencies and translate technical complexity into clear business outcomes.
Product & Feature Delivery: Track record of shipping complex, customer-facing products through the full development lifecycle using pragmatic Agile practices to improve team focus, transparency, and delivery predictability.
Execution & Agile Mindset: Strong analytical and organizational judgment to manage project dependencies, resolve ambiguity, and deliver complex platform initiatives through the complete software development lifecycle.
We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Prague office in compliance with Everpure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.
