Job Description
The role involves leading and managing a technical sales engineering team supporting telecommunications customers across Europe, providing pre-sales technical support, building customer relationships, and aligning technical strategies with business goals in the telco and data storage industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Systems Engineers supporting Tier-1 Telco and network partners across EMEA.
- Oversee technical pre-sales activities to support sales opportunities and ensure high-quality customer support.
- Engage with senior customer stakeholders to understand technical requirements and provide tailored solutions.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships as a trusted advisor.
- Contribute to regional Telco sales strategy development and execution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and improve customer outcomes.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a technical pre-sales or Systems Engineering leadership role supporting Tier-1 Telecommunications customers across the EMEA region.
- Strong technical background with expertise in storage solutions and related technologies.
- Experience leading, mentoring, and developing a team of Systems Engineers supporting Tier-1 Telco and Network Equipment provider partners across EMEA.
- Ability to conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Deep understanding of the telco operating model, including network, IT, procurement, security, cloud, engineering, and operations.
- Experience overseeing technical pre-sales activities, ensuring high-quality support to the sales team, and collaborating with sales leaders to develop and execute account strategies.
- Ability to support customer engagement by understanding technical requirements and providing tailored solutions, including delivering technical presentations, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept engagements.
- Experience engaging with senior stakeholders such as CTOs, Network Cloud teams, Core Network teams, CISOs, and Procurement to understand strategic programs and technical needs.
- Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships as a trusted advisor.
- Experience contributing to the development and execution of regional Telco sales strategies and aligning SE activities with strategic goals.
- Ability to monitor and report on key performance metrics for continuous improvement.
- Experience working closely with cross-functional teams including Product Management, Engineering, and Customer Support to ensure alignment and address customer needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to think strategically and execute effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of industry-standard telco architectures, including NFV, 5G, 6G, RAN, Core Network, CNF, private cloud, data protection, AI/ML pipelines, and edge requirements.
- Knowledge of industry-standard network equipment providers such as Nokia, Ericsson, Samsung, and Mavenir.
- Familiarity with the telco business model, network transformation programs, and data-intensive workloads.
- Willingness to work from the Staines-Upon-Thames or London, UK office in accordance with company policies, unless on PTO, travel, or other approved leave.
