Job Description
This role involves technical sales and solutions engineering in the data storage industry, focusing on understanding customer needs, demonstrating storage products and architectures, and driving revenue growth through technical leadership and innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop an understanding of customer business drivers and decision-making processes.
- Connect technology solutions to measurable customer business outcomes.
- Collaborate with sales teams and partners to create seamless customer experiences and strategies.
- Demonstrate technical leadership and domain expertise in storage products and architectures.
- Manage evaluations, benchmarks, and system configurations for storage solutions.
- Create and deliver technical presentations to secure customer buy-in.
- Translate customer requirements into innovative storage solutions to support growth.
- Respond to RFI, RFP, and RFQ requests with technical proposals.
- Identify and pursue new opportunities for interoperability, testing, and validation.
- Produce marketing materials such as whitepapers and web presentations to support product positioning.
- Stay current with industry trends and competitive landscape to promote thought leadership.
Requirements
- Pre-sales experience is required.
- 5 or more years of relevant experience in technology, design, and communications.
- Deep understanding of the architecture, design, and implementation of multi-tiered client server and web-based computing solutions.
- Experience supporting the sales of enterprise storage, networking, systems, cloud, or software to enterprise accounts.
- Superior knowledge of current and emerging storage architectures including FC, iSCSI, NAS, OSD, SAN, Linux, NFS file systems, and Linux distributed network environment.
- Familiarity with AWS, Azure, GCP is a plus.
- Experience with installation and configuration of distributed computing, multiprocessing, virtual memory subsystem, storage subsystems architecture, shared memory architectures, cache architectures, windowing systems.
- Familiarity with containers, Kubernetes (k8s), and microservices architectures is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of digital transformation to a Cloud Native architecture, On-Prem, Public Cloud, Provisioning Automation, and Containers.
- Knowledge of VMware, Local Area Networking, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and general networking.
- Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills.
- BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or other technical degree, or equivalent experience.
- Must have a familiarity with modern web architecture such as LAMP stack, scale-out vs scale-up architectures, AWS well-architected framework, microservices architecture.
- Curiosity and passion around technology and explaining and showing new technology platforms and concepts to customers.
- Familiarity with storage-intensive applications and their requirements such as structured databases SQL, Oracle is highly desirable.
