Job Description
A Fire Extinguisher Technician responsible for inspecting, maintaining, repairing, and selling fire extinguishers, providing safety training, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform inspection, testing, service, and repairs on all types of fire extinguishers according to standards, codes, and manufacturer requirements
- Record and document inspections, repairs, discrepancies, and recommendations
- Survey facilities for fire and safety needs and reference applicable requirements
- Provide customer support by creating quotes, answering questions, and assessing fire equipment needs
- Service and maintain company vehicle, keeping it stocked and organized
- Ensure high-quality customer service and maintain a friendly environment
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations
- Work collaboratively with team members to achieve objectives
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 year experience in Fire Protection industry or other related industries such as construction, electronics, or sales distribution (preferred)
- Working knowledge of National Fire Protection Association NFPA 10 Standards Servicing Guidelines and local authorities having jurisdiction AHJ requirements (preferred)
- ICC NAFED Fire Extinguishers Certification
- Valid state issued driver s license with acceptable driving record
- Able to constantly lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted
- Able to constantly lift and carry items such as toolboxes, tools, equipment, parts, extinguishers
- Ability to travel to multiple job sites each day
