Job Description
The Fire Alarm Service Install Technician is responsible for installing, programming, and repairing fire alarm panel systems, ensuring they function according to specifications. This role involves troubleshooting, maintaining customer relationships, and ensuring compliance with safety codes and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, program, and repair fire alarm panel systems.
- Perform fire alarm commissioning.
- Conduct on-site troubleshooting, programming, and repairs.
- Inspect, test, and service low voltage life safety product lines.
- Maintain positive customer relationships and communicate relevant information.
- Identify and correct code and non-conformance issues.
- Write and maintain detailed work reports and service tickets.
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and product manuals.
- Provide customer instruction on device use and maintenance.
- Evaluate customer sites for additional equipment and services.
- Discuss deficiencies with customers and explain resolutions.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 2 years experience as a Fire Alarm Service Technician
- 2 years experience as a journeyman low voltage electrician
- NICET II Fire Alarm Systems or higher certification
- LEA Limited Energy Technician Class A Electrical License
- Valid state-issued driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Able to constantly lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted
- Working knowledge of NFPA Standards including 70 and 72 Servicing Guidelines and local AHJ requirements
