Job Description
The Origination Analyst supports commercial activities related to energy storage projects by developing market assessments, managing offtake opportunities, and supporting M&A processes to facilitate the integration of renewable energy into the power grid.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, qualify, and pursue new commercial offtake opportunities in ISO RTO markets
- Produce market assessment analyses including price forecasts, interconnection queues, and policy drivers
- Support outreach and structured product development for major corporate clients
- Manage and prepare responses to RFPs and support power marketing activities
- Coordinate internal teams supporting commercial efforts
- Support M&A processes including evaluating opportunities and preparing proposals
- Assist with risk controls, compliance, and investment committee presentations
- Participate in deal-making exercises and support market entry strategies
- Maintain internal project pipeline tracking across multiple stages
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field
- 2-3 years experience in renewable energy and or battery storage
- 2-3 years experience managing supporting formal RFPs or public procurements
- Understanding of project valuation and pricing and or M A valuation for renewable energy and or battery storage
- Understanding of renewable energy power marketing fundamentals and electric utility business models
- Basic understanding of ISO RTO market structures
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex data to drive informed decision-making
- Ability to explain complex technical analysis in a simplified manner to the internal management team and or external parties
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a cross-functional environment with both technical and non-technical team members who are geographically dispersed
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong technical writing and communication skills
- Self-motivated and disciplined to manage time and tasks efficiently in both office and remote environments
- Proven ability to stay connected and maintain communication across distributed teams in hybrid or remote settings
- Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office products Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook with advanced Excel modeling skills
