Job Description
Planet designs, builds, and operates the largest constellation of imaging satellites in history.
Key Responsibilities
- This working student position is designed for individuals who are interested in applying technology to solve real customer challenges while growing into customer-facing technical professionals. Working alongside our Solutions Architects, you will support the discovery, design, piloting, and delivery of geospatial solutions by combining your technical background with Planet’s products and platforms. You will collaborate directly with customers, engineers, and cross-functional teams, progressively developing the technical and consulting skills required to become a trusted technical advisor.
- This is a part-time (20 hours/week), hybrid role which will require you to work from our Berlin office approximately 2 days per week.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled full-time at an accredited university in GIS, Computer Science, Remote Sensing, Geography, or a related field.
- Familiarity with GIS software such as QGIS, ArcGIS, GDAL, ENVI, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.
- Experience supporting customer workshops, gathering requirements, and working directly with end users.
- Experience using AI tools for productivity, coding, and rapid prototyping.
- Solid communication skills with the ability to collaborate directly with customers and technical teams.
- Fluent written and spoken Russian and English.
- A proactive, curious, and customer-oriented mindset.
- A background in remote sensing, geoscience, or geoinformatics.
- Practical experience with Python for geospatial applications, data processing, or automation.
- Experience designing geospatial solutions or supporting solution architecture.
- Experience with Agile software development and cross-functional product delivery.
- Experience with machine learning, modern cloud technologies, CI/CD, or geospatial web applications.
- Familiarity with Planet products or Earth observation technologies.
