Job Description
The Senior Product Manager will develop and manage solutions that translate Planet's satellite data into measurable value for customers across various sectors, collaborating with engineering and external partners to create scalable, market-driven products and strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead customer discovery and feasibility studies to validate high-value use cases.
- Partner with Engineering and Data Science to decompose complex requirements into technical specifications and user stories.
- Manage sprint planning and backlog grooming to ensure balanced feature delivery and technical debt management.
- Define and deliver reusable building blocks within the platform to enable scalable solutions.
- Collaborate with Product Marketing and Sales to communicate technical capabilities and demonstrate ROI.
- Build relationships with external partners and government agencies to identify collaboration opportunities.
Requirements
- Six (6) years of experience in product management, ideally within Earth Observation or geospatial analytics.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Experience launching solution products that include bundles of data, analytics, and services rather than just standalone features.
- Ability to translate complex vertical needs into clear engineering tasks and user outcomes.
- Solid understanding of vertical market dynamics such as government procurement and supply chains, and experience assessing market size viability.
- Experience managing end-to-end product lifecycles and navigating ambiguity in fast-paced environments.
