Job Description
The Senior Revenue Manager will oversee revenue accounting operations, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support revenue recognition and reporting for a technology and space data company.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret complex contracts and determine proper revenue accounting treatment in accordance with ASC 606
- Research, draft, and maintain technical accounting memos for non-routine revenue transactions
- Manage revenue accounting processes including month, quarter, and year-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, flux analysis, and disclosures
- Collaborate with Sales, Legal, Finance, and Sales Operations on deal structure and revenue compliance
- Serve as the primary liaison for internal and external audits related to revenue recognition and controls
- Assist with revenue-related disclosures for SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K)
- Lead and manage the Fulfillment Team responsible for delivering and activating customer goods and services
- Coordinate projects, system enhancements, and product implementations impacting revenue
Requirements
- 6 years of revenue accounting experience, with experience at both public and private companies
- 4 years of supervisory and or leadership experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or other quantitative major
- Excellent understanding of US GAAP and ASC 606 principles in a SaaS or Software focused industry
- Ability to be a self-starter and uphold accountability for self and the team
- Experience supporting Deals Desk, Legal and or Sales team during the deal negotiations for revenue compliance
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, collaboration and coordination skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities by identifying and engaging appropriate resources to deliver under given time constraints and deadlines
- Ability to develop and inspire a team by empowering decision-making at lower levels, offering frequent opportunities to develop, and encouraging upward feedback
- Experience with Netsuite and Salesforce
- Understanding of business ethics and ability to maintain discretion when dealing with confidential and sensitive data
- Experience working effectively across internal and external organizations
- Expertise in Excel

Salary range based on location and experience (e.g., $136,000 - $170,000 in New York City, $144,500 - $180,600 in San Francisco, $127,000 - $158,700 US national)
