Job Description

This internship involves designing and developing management training modules using instructional design principles and e-learning platforms to support the growth of effective managers within a fast-growing technology company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the L D Program Manager to design and build core Manager Essentials course modules.
  • Learn and operate the Rise content authoring platform to develop interactive learning content.
  • Build and configure courses in Skilljar LMS, including sequencing, assessments, and tracking.
  • Research best practices in manager development and instructional design.
  • Develop supporting materials such as facilitator guides, quick-reference resources, and job aids.
  • Design assessment and feedback mechanisms within courses, including knowledge checks and scenario-based activities.
  • Participate in team planning sessions and contribute to broader learning initiatives.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Learning Sciences, Organizational Development, Human Resources, Education, or a related field.
  • Genuine interest in how people learn, including curiosity about adult learning theory, instructional design principles, and understanding what makes training actually change behavior rather than just check a box.
  • Comfort with technology platforms and a willingness to learn new tools quickly, including Rise and Skilljar, with the ability to pick up new software without extensive hand-holding.
  • Solid attention to detail and organizational skills necessary for course design, sequencing, formatting, and content accuracy.
  • Good writing skills for developing clear, concise instructional content accessible to a diverse audience of managers with varying experience levels.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the L D Program Manager on a shared project, taking direction while also contributing ideas and creative problem-solving.
  • Comfort with ambiguity, as the program is being built for the first time and some aspects will evolve as the project progresses.

Benefits & Perks

Compensation range: $35 - $60 per hour (US), final salary determined by experience, skills, and location
Work schedule: Full-time, hybrid role requiring work from San Francisco office 3 days per week
Work environment perks: Commuter benefits, paid time off for holidays and company-wide days off, internet reimbursement, access to LinkedIn Learning
