The Product Manager is responsible for the strategic planning, development, and lifecycle management of Phoenix Contact’s North American circuit breaker product portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Be the subject matter expert for circuit breaker technology – i.e., trip curves, short circuit current ratings, etc.
Gather market research, customer feedback and stakeholder input to arrive at a strategic product plan
Define what products are suitable for target markets.
Develop and maintain product strategy and roadmap, and communicate strategy to appropriate internal stakeholders
Manage the entire lifecycle of the product line including product concept, design, sample production, testing, forecast, cost, mass production, spec/feature additions and modifications, and product end of life.
Ensure quality of the product line through collaboration with QA and factory.
Set prioritization and work with product development team in setting product release deadlines
Write functional specifications, customer value propositions statements, and expected benefit or loss (if not implemented) of a product or application concept.
Ongoing communication on product’s progress to executives, sales team, and other stakeholders.
Coordinate with the Product Marketing department to finalize marketing, technical, promotional, and PR material required for product introductions.
Develop training material and provide training to sales and technical teams.
Travel and participate in market activities such as standards meeting, specialty trade shows, conferences, key customer visits, and forums to gain closer access to customer and industry trends.
Up to 20% travel, including international travel.
Perform other work-related duties as assigned
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline or equivalent work experience is required.
3+ years of working knowledge of product development and/or product marketing experience with circuit breaker technology
Experience with networking technologies including cellular and ethernet highly desired
Candidate must be well organized, self-motivated, and capable of seeing projects through to completion.
High level of accountability and planning capabilities, communicates with transparency and integrity.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams.
Successfully collaborate in a dynamic and diverse environment.
Proficient with Salesforce, Microsoft Visio, & MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Experience in vertical markets such as material handling, industrial machinery, power generation & energy, or data centers is a plus.
