Job Description

The job involves developing and executing strategic sales and marketing plans for the Industrial Components Electronics segment, focusing on driving revenue growth in Wisconsin and Illinois. The role requires leadership in managing a sales team, building relationships with key accounts, and implementing effective coaching and performance evaluation strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic and tactical regional plans aligned with sales and marketing objectives.
  • Provide leadership and oversight in implementing sales plans in collaboration with the sales team and distribution partners.
  • Meet or exceed sales growth objectives as established by management.
  • Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies through effective communication and delegation.
  • Forecast, report, and communicate sales data to the Director of Sales.
  • Utilize CRM for communication, planning, reporting, and tracking to enhance productivity.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key accounts and distribution channels.
  • Monitor and evaluate assigned KPIs and report findings monthly.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing team members.
  • Plan and manage sales promotion activities within the region.
  • Conduct performance reviews of direct reports.
  • Maintain knowledge of Phoenix Contact products, particularly in Industrial Control Cabinet and Automation solutions.

Requirements

  • Four-year degree required; Engineering discipline preferred.
  • 5-7 years outside sales experience required.
  • Must have experience in working with industrial and automation distributors.
  • Proficient with Windows based applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with a customer relationship management software package required.
  • Must be able to travel via airplane.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be able to operate an automobile for up to six hours at a time.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds for samples, demos, and literature.
  • Must be able to travel overnight 35-50% as required by assigned territories.
  • Attendance in accordance with company policies and participation in local, regional, and international meetings is required.
