Job Description
This role involves developing and executing strategic sales and marketing plans for the Automation Industrial Sales Engineers in the US Subsidiary, focusing on driving revenue growth and fostering a high-performance team environment across Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic and tactical regional plans aligned with sales and marketing objectives.
- Provide leadership and oversight in implementing plans in collaboration with the sales team and distribution partners.
- Meet or exceed sales growth objectives as established by management.
- Develop tactical implementation of sales and marketing strategies through effective communication and delegation.
- Implement approved plans, policies, and programs from sales and marketing management.
- Forecast, report, and communicate sales data to the Director of Sales.
- Utilize CRM for communication, planning, reporting, and tracking to increase productivity.
- Build and maintain a high-performance sales team and manage all sales activities within the assigned region.
- Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing team members.
- Build relationships with key accounts and coordinate sales and marketing activities.
- Monitor and evaluate assigned KPIs and report monthly to the Director of Sales.
- Participate in regional industry associations and manage sales promotion activities.
- Conduct performance reviews of direct reports.
- Maintain knowledge of Phoenix Contact products, particularly in Industrial Control Cabinet and Automation solutions.
- Develop and enhance local and regional distributor channels.
Requirements
- Four-year degree required; Engineering discipline preferred.
- 5-7 years outside sales experience required.
- Must have experience working with industrial and automation distributors.
- Proficient with Windows based applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with a customer relationship management software package required.
- Must be able to travel via airplane.
- Must have a valid driver's license and be able to operate an automobile for up to six hours at a time.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds for samples, demos, and literature.
- Must be able to travel overnight 35-50% as required by assigned territories.
- Attendance in accordance with company policies and participation in local, regional, and international meetings required.
