Job Description
The Field Application Engineer provides technical support and expertise in automation, control, and networking products to support sales growth and customer satisfaction within the industrial automation industry, primarily focusing on developing and expanding customer accounts in the specified region.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and increase sales of automation, control, and networking products within assigned territory.
- Act as the technical representative to provide expertise and support for product sales and technical matters.
- Develop and deliver product presentations, demonstrations, and technical support to customers.
- Collaborate with sales teams to execute joint sales activities, trainings, and strategic plans.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders to facilitate business growth.
- Develop sales tools, collateral, and marketing campaigns to promote products and solutions.
- Provide customer insights for product line expansion and new industry focus.
- Utilize CRM systems for customer management, reporting, and tracking sales activities.
- Maintain technical knowledge of Phoenix Contact products and solutions.
- Achieve or exceed territory sales quotas through proactive sales efforts.
Requirements
- Four-year degree required, with an engineering degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of sales or marketing experience with automation and industrial control products.
- Ability to work independently from a home office and communicate effectively with colleagues with limited supervision.
- Excellent oral, written communication, and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to learn and adapt quickly.
- Must be able to travel via airplane and automobile for up to six hours at a time.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to travel overnight 40 or more nights as dictated by the assigned territory.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Must comply with company dress code guidelines.
- Punctuality and regular, on-time attendance are required.
