Job Description
A Legal Counsel role focused on providing legal, contractual, and strategic support for renewable energy projects, particularly solar assets, in Taiwan. The position involves managing legal aspects of project development, operations, and joint ventures within the renewable energy sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal, commercial, and strategic support for Taiwan operations and joint venture activities.
- Participate in business planning and execution related to permits, construction, land development, and financing.
- Review and manage project agreements, land leases, permits, and other contractual documents.
- Advise on corporate structure and legal considerations to achieve financial outcomes.
- Oversee the organization of data rooms for project assets.
- Act as legal adviser to JV directors and manage company governance procedures.
- Identify and communicate legal and business risks associated with assets and projects.
- Interface with JV partners to resolve issues and coordinate risk mitigation efforts.
Requirements
- Over 5 years of project development and operational experience, ideally from an in-house or leading law firm environment.
- Some M A experience is desirable.
- Experience in the renewables or infrastructure sector is highly preferred.
- Strong contractual understanding with experience in reviewing and managing project agreements, land leases, and permits.
- Taiwanese law qualification is an essential practical experience is highly valued.
- Ability to work effectively in a small, dynamic, and scaling team.
- Must be robust, proactive, and able to manage issues with multiple stakeholders.
- Fluency in both English and Mandarin Chinese is essential.
