Job Description
The Investment Manager will oversee financial modeling, project finance, and investment analysis for renewable energy projects in Japan, ensuring project viability and supporting transactions, while collaborating with various teams and external partners to drive the company's renewable energy portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage financial modeling of renewable projects and operating entities in Japan to ensure accuracy and meet return requirements
- Support deal structuring, due diligence, and prepare internal and investor presentation materials
- Oversee project bankability aspects including PPA, EPC, O M, interconnection, land lease, permitting, environmental, and insurance
- Lead financial planning, structuring, negotiating, and closing of non-recourse project finance
- Develop relationships with banks, financial institutions, and external advisors during the financing process
- Monitor the performance of operating projects against budget
- Assist in setting up local operations, including credit matrix and legal entities establishment
- Ensure compliance with statutory timelines for tax and internal reporting requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; an advanced degree and/or CPA is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in project finance, preferably with substantial experience in renewable energy.
- Proven track record of successful project finance and/or M&A closings.
- Strong background in financing, tax, accounting, financial modelling, and contract analysis with the ability to contribute to or guide investment structuring and project due diligence.
- Bilingual proficiency in Japanese and English.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
