Job Description
The role involves overseeing partnership and tax equity functions within the finance team, including tax compliance, planning, and reporting related to renewable energy investments, with a focus on strategic guidance and collaboration across departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee partnership federal and state income tax returns for accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
- Establish and maintain cash tax forecast models incorporating partnership distributions.
- Provide strategic guidance and oversight for tax planning initiatives.
- Serve as primary liaison with external partnership tax advisors and tax authorities.
- Establish and maintain internal controls over income tax accounting and reporting.
- Oversee tax credit registrations and transfers.
- Monitor legislative changes in tax law and assess their impact on the company’s tax positions.
- Review partnership and joint venture tax-related general ledger reconciliations.
- Review hypothetical liquidation at book value and HLBV calculations for tax equity funds.
- Prepare and review tax equity fund workpapers and tax return filings as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- CPA certification with previous experience at a Big 4 accounting firm
- Minimum of 10 years of tax experience
- Solid understanding of partnership tax concepts
- Experience with Renewal energy Investment Tax Credit is a plus
- Experience with tax equity investor is a plus
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in tax reporting and compliance
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with a hands-on approach to problem-solving and decision-making
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate in a team-based environment
- Availability for occasional travel
- Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check
