Job Description

The General Manager, Palmetto Accelerator, leads strategic investments in new growth areas, oversees pilot programs, evaluates market opportunities, and manages cross-functional teams to drive long-term organizational growth and innovation in the clean energy sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic investment in new growth areas and oversee their development towards profitability or deprioritization.
  • Source, evaluate, and test high-potential concepts through investment mechanisms and pilot programs.
  • Perform cost-benefit analyses to assess capital allocation and potential returns on investment.
  • Develop and monitor metrics frameworks to evaluate product-market fit and pilot success.
  • Manage the end-to-end investment budget, adjusting priorities based on performance metrics.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to structure, launch, and adapt pilot programs based on early results.
  • Identify and manage strategic partnerships from initiation to implementation.
  • Contribute to long-term strategic planning, balancing short-term wins with future growth opportunities.
  • Lead multiple teams working on different strategies, ensuring alignment with company goals.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders through concise reports and presentations.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to analyze complex data, set KPIs, and structure the testing needed to evaluate investment areas and pilot programs.
  • Strong cross-functional collaborator, able to build trust, alignment, and support from cross-functional partners and senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent communicator able to convey a vision and progress to that vision to both internal vs. external audiences, and senior leaders vs. company-wide.
  • Must have a phenomenal understanding of capital allocation.
  • Self-starter and structured thinker experienced at breaking down complex challenges and opportunities with clear frameworks and processes.
  • Highly adaptable to changing situations and comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Experience owning both strategic direction and operational execution in either GM, Product, or GTM positions for at least 12 years.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with a zero-to-one mentality.
  • Experience working in early-stage startups or on emerging products within later-stage companies, working with limited resources, team, capital, time, aggressive goals, and compounded urgency.
  • Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check.
