Job Description
The Senior Buyer will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing materials and services for energy storage programs, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality while building strong supplier relationships. This role requires strategic thinking and excellent negotiation skills in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiating contracts and terms.
- Manage procurement activities for materials, equipment, and services.
- Ensure purchasing aligns with company policies and ethical standards.
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers for reliability.
- Monitor supplier performance and address delivery or quality issues.
- Conduct supplier evaluations and audits for compliance.
- Analyze market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Develop strategies to manage material costs while ensuring quality.
- Track and report on cost variances and budget performance.
- Collaborate with internal teams on demand forecasts and production schedules.
- Monitor inventory levels and adjust purchase orders as needed.
- Coordinate with logistics teams for receipt and storage of materials.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers.
- Resolve disputes and contract-related issues promptly.
- Continuously assess and improve procurement processes.
- Leverage technology to optimize procurement workflows.
- Ensure compliance with legal regulations and industry standards.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases and supplier information.
- Prepare reports on procurement activities and supplier performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5-7 years Purchasing and Supply Chain, or related experience.
- Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
- Ensure all purchasing aligns with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
- Monitor supplier performance, addressing issues such as delivery delays, quality concerns, or pricing discrepancies.
- Conduct regular supplier evaluations and audits to ensure compliance with company requirements.
- Track and report on cost variances and budget performance.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier information.

Compensation/salary range
Full-time 40 hours, generally Monday through Friday 8am-5pm EST
