Job Description
Orenda is on a mission to make the grid more efficient with batteries and software.
Requirements
- Excellent problem solver with an affinity for interesting and difficult problems and the follow-through to solve them
- B.S. and 3+ years of relevant experience
- Deep understanding of timeseries forecasting, machine learning algorithms, data processing, and model optimization techniques
- 2+ years experience writing clean, maintainable Python code with Machine Learning frameworks (e.g. PyTorch, Tensorflow)
- Proficiency with AI-driven development workflows and coding agents (Claude Code, ChatGPT Codex, etc.)
- Demonstrated experience crafting, performing, and analyzing experiments
- Proficiency working in a cloud computing environment
- You take a first principles, mathematically-minded approach to new problems
- Keen attention to detail. You do not need someone to inspect your work
- Relentlessly positive attitude, strong work ethic, and sense of humor
- Experience in energy markets
- SWE background (cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, testing, production-level code)

- Base Salary: The anticipated base salary range for this full-time position in New York City is $100,000-$175,000 per year. The final base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, and qualifications.
- Bonus: In addition to the base salary, this role is eligible for a significant annual performance-based bonus.
