Job Description
The Intern, Project Origination at Orenda supports the identification and evaluation of potential energy storage project sites, engages with stakeholders, and contributes to the development and growth of renewable energy projects through research, data analysis, and outreach efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify properties suitable for energy storage development
- Research site-specific information and update data sets in CRM
- Assess and note project risks based on provided criteria
- Educate potential stakeholders about energy storage opportunities
- Prepare marketing materials for stakeholder engagement
- Independently qualify and advance new project leads
- Engage with prospective landowner partners to discuss leasing terms
- Manage interim and final deliverable schedules to ensure quality and accuracy
Requirements
- Rising college senior or recent graduate
- A deep-seated passion for clean energy and a strong commitment to Orenda’s mission to increase grid efficiency
- Demonstrated interest in energy, environmental policy, or battery storage technology
- A self-starter who takes full responsibility for outcomes and views work assignments as an opportunity to contribute to Orenda’s growth
- Ability to gather and analyze qualitative and quantitative data to inform site selection and project risk evaluation
- Proficiency in clear, two-way communication regarding deliverable status, scope of work, and issue escalation
- Willingness to learn Orenda’s unique development methodology and open to receiving and offering constructive feedback to peers and supervisors
- Full-time availability to work in-office at Orenda’s headquarters in Brooklyn, NY five days a week

Compensation: $20 per hour in New York City
