The Associate, Development supports the development of solar energy and battery storage projects by coordinating project activities, conducting research, managing stakeholder communication, and ensuring project compliance and progress within a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and analyze project schedules, scopes of work, and budgets to ensure project viability
Coordinate meetings, document decisions, and communicate with internal teams and stakeholders
Research and obtain critical project or market information related to zoning, permits, land records, and industry studies
Track project progress, identify potential issues, and report on project status
Coordinate quality control processes to ensure deliverables meet requirements
Act as a primary point of contact for project information management
Conduct outreach to prospective landowners and facilitate site analysis and due diligence
Support preparation and review of interconnection documents and utility coordination
Assist with permitting processes, including preparing permit applications and engaging with authorities and communities
Support development of project financing documents and communicate with finance and legal teams
Manage relationships with external consultants to ensure timely and accurate deliverables
Requirements
One year of experience working in a professional environment, including internships and part-time work.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as energy, real estate, sustainability, policy, communications, or equivalent experience.
High degree of organization and time-management skills.
Experience in PC computer skills and familiarity with MS Office and Windows.
Demonstrated interest in renewable energy, sustainable infrastructure, or related field.
Strong attention to detail with a high level of organizational capacity to manage multiple projects.
Experience in providing efficient, timely, and reliable support to internal and external stakeholders.
Self-motivated and self-starter, with proven ability to take ownership, initiative, and accountability.
High levels of integrity and personal accountability.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written.
Ability to manage competing priorities often across functional and operational lines.
Demonstrated qualities of integrity, credibility, and professional responsibility.
A willingness to contribute to a culture that thrives on building trust and holding one another accountable.
Ability to travel and access sites of varying terrain, including travel within the Midwest with nights up to 20% of working time.
Must carry an active driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
