The Engagement Snr. Associate reports to the Engagement Snr. Manager and works hand in hand with Development, Delivery, subcontractors, and other support staff to plan, execute, and manage community engagement in the Midwest. Key Responsibilities
Lead community engagement efforts in the Midwest to support the development team with project-permitting and community benefits for solar and BESS projects.
Identify, build, and maintain strategic partnerships in the Midwest to support the successful development of OneEnergy’s regional portfolio of projects.
Establish strong relationships with local governments, project neighbors, key stakeholders, non-profit partners, and other community-based entities or organizations.
Follow up and follow through on community feedback wherever feasible to improve project outcomes.
Work with key stakeholders to develop and execute community benefits commitments, plans, and agreements where applicable.
Support Development and Delivery teams with event coordination for first responder trainings, educational site visits, workforce development, site tours, etc.
Continually analyze industry trends and best practices in community engagement and communications.
Perform other engagement and development-related support tasks as needed.
Operate in a professional, responsible, and collaborative manner with all project participants.
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Technical degree in Renewable Energy, Natural Resources, Communications, Engagement, or related field.
3-5 years of experience in Renewable Energy, Natural Resources, Communications, Engagement, or related field.
Demonstrate a high degree of time management and organizational skills resulting in the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects at various stages of development and operations.
Must effectively communicate and collaborate across diverse stakeholder perspectives toward forming a diverse coalition of support for solar projects.
Demonstrate strong conflict management and de-escalation skills.
Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure while maintaining a calm, professional demeanor.
Possess strong quantitative and qualitative analysis and critical thinking skills.
Excellent PC computer skills and familiarity with MS Office and Windows.
Proven ability to provide efficient, timely, and reliable responses and service to project and community stakeholders.
Self-motivated with proven ability to take ownership, initiative, and accountability.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written.
Ability to manage competing priorities across functional and operational lines.
Ability to contribute to an amicable working environment with colleagues.
Must have a “roll up your sleeves and let’s get the job done right” type attitude.

Ability to travel and access sites of varying terrain. Position requires frequent travel, up to 1-2 weeks per month or about 20% of working time; must carry an active driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
Base Compensation: $75,000-$95,000 annually, based on professional experience
