Job Description
The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for managing the full cycle of accounts payable processes, ensuring accurate and timely entry of vendor invoices, supporting system implementations, and maintaining strong internal and external customer relations within a renewable energy company.
Key Responsibilities
- Process full cycle accounts payable for solar construction and development projects
- Review purchase requisitions for internal approval and documentation
- Enter and submit vendor invoices accurately and promptly into the accounting system
- Respond to invoice, purchase requisition, and payment inquiries from internal and external stakeholders
- Review and analyze contract payment terms and conditions
- Assist in setting up new vendors with accurate tax and banking information
- Support systems implementation, testing, and issue resolution
- Participate in annual financial statement audits
- Maintain and review accounts payable processes and documentation
- Suggest improvements to accounts payable controls and processes
Requirements
- Associates Degree or equivalent experience.
- 2 years of experience in accounts payable, preferably at a construction company or company with a high volume of purchase orders.
- Proactive and creative problem-solving skills asking pointed questions to ensure clarity and consistency across business practices.
- Ability to clearly communicate problems and identify possible resolutions.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the organizational capacity to manage multiple projects tasks with competing deadlines.
- Experience in ERP system such as Sage Intacct or NetSuite preferred.
- Experience with general project management tools is preferred.
- A proven ability to provide efficient, timely, and reliable service, data, and reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
- Keen interest in identifying systems and processes for efficiency improvements and ability to communicate such to management.
- A solid understanding of accounts payable activities impact to the monthly, quarterly, and annual financials.
- Must be self-motivated and enjoy a team-oriented cross functional work environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have a roll up your sleeves and let’s get the job done right type attitude.
- Demonstrated qualities of integrity, credibility, and fiduciary responsibility.
