Job Description

The Solar Technician is responsible for the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, repair, and installation of equipment at solar power plants, ensuring adherence to safety and established standards. This role involves hands-on technical work, documentation, and mentoring of junior staff while maintaining high-quality control and inventory management.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, test, repair, and install equipment in solar power plants
  • Operate and maintain solar power plants in accordance with established standards
  • Troubleshoot system problems and resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Conduct daily mechanical and electrical inspections of installed equipment
  • Document work orders, service orders, time logs, and emergency information schedules
  • Maintain inventory control of assigned equipment
  • Ensure high quality control on provided tools, vehicles, and materials
  • Train, mentor, and develop laborers into Apprentices
  • Ensure continuing education to meet safety and plant requirements

Requirements

  • Valid Driver's License REQUIRED
  • 3 years suitable employment experience
  • Ability to perform necessary physical activity, including lifting up to 80 Lbs
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to perform basic electrical calculations and read and interpret electrical schematics
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow, working independently with minimal supervision
  • High aptitude and a strong work ethic is a must
  • Provide a working knowledge of troubleshooting electrical components with help and use of digital multi-meters, meggers, amp clamps, and similar equipment
