The Lead Solar Technician is responsible for providing technical leadership, safety oversight, and operational management of solar energy sites, ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and performance while supporting team development and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Manage site safety and accident prevention programs, conduct safety inspections and briefings, and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain solar plant systems, including electrical and mechanical components, ensuring safe and optimal performance.
Oversee equipment maintenance schedules, manage spare parts inventory, and ensure accurate documentation of work activities.
Lead and develop site team through training, mentorship, and supporting talent rotation and succession planning.
Support contractors and OEM vendors, ensuring quality work and adherence to standards.
Maintain site vegetation and perform routine inspections to ensure safety and operational efficiency.
Requirements
Valid Driver's License
Inverter Specialist or Solar Technician with 3 years experience
Knowledgeable of renewable energy peculiarities and expertise in DC array technology
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to perform basic electrical calculations, read and interpret electrical schematics
Ability to manage priorities and workflow, working independently with minimal supervision
Ability to perform necessary physical activity, including lifting up to 80 Lbs.
Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
Minimum Certifications: OSHA 30-Hour Training for General Industry, NFPA 70E Workplace Electrical Safety, First Aid, CPR, AED
