Job Description
The Lead Solar Technician at Origis Energy is responsible for providing technical leadership, ensuring safety, quality, and operational excellence in solar plant maintenance and operations, while managing team development and safety programs at a site location.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage site safety programs, conduct safety inspections, and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical system issues, perform inspections, and resolve operational problems.
- Operate and maintain solar plant equipment, including managing maintenance schedules and inventory.
- Provide technical training and mentorship to site technicians.
- Oversee documentation, work orders, and inventory control related to maintenance activities.
- Support contractors and OEM vendors to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
- Maintain site vegetation and perform routine site upkeep activities.
Requirements
- Valid Driver's License
- Inverter Specialist or Solar Technician with 3 years experience
- Knowledgeable of renewable energy peculiarities and expertise in DC array technology
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to perform basic electrical calculations, read and interpret electrical schematics
- Ability to manage priorities and workflow, working independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to perform necessary physical activity, including lifting up to 80 Lbs.
- Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Minimum Certifications: OSHA 30-Hour Training for General Industry, NFPA 70E Workplace Electrical Safety, First Aid, CPR, AED
Benefits & Perks
Compensation/salary range: $30-$45 per hour
Work schedule: Night, weekend, and outside normal hours; on-call rotation
