Job Description
The Smart Meter Engineer will be responsible for installing smart meters in customers' homes, educating them on how to use the meters and in-home displays to save energy, while providing excellent customer service and support as part of the Octopus Energy Services team.
Key Responsibilities
- Install smart meters in customer homes
- Educate customers on meter and in-home display functionality
- Assist customers in understanding energy-saving benefits
- Answer customer inquiries about the green energy revolution
Requirements
- Track record of safety and customer excellence in smart meter installation.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and explain how their meter and in-home display work.
- Experience in fitting smart meters.
- Participation in a quick trades test to demonstrate skills.
- Demonstrated customer-engagement experience through online questions.
- Willingness to have a short interview with the area manager to discuss experience and motivation.
