Job Description
The Senior Development Manager at Octopus Energy Generation is responsible for managing and delivering renewable energy development projects across Europe, from early land acquisition to construction readiness, ensuring project viability, risk mitigation, and value maximization through effective communication with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver the development pipeline from early stage land to ready-to-build projects across Europe.
- Identify and mitigate risks to ensure projects are commercially viable.
- Maximize value of projects throughout their development journey and lead on exits.
- Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to support investment cases and project delivery.
- Support decision-making and value creation for portfolio companies through data analysis and communication.
Requirements
- The candidate must have experience in delivering the development pipeline of renewable energy projects from early stage land acquisition to ready-to-build stage, with a focus on making projects commercially viable and supporting them through to the start of construction.
- The candidate must have strong commercial awareness and understanding of renewables development processes.
- The candidate must have experience in risk identification and mitigation related to renewable energy projects to ensure their commercial viability.
- The candidate must have experience in value maximization of renewable energy projects through their development journey, including leading on exits.
- The candidate must be able to communicate clearly with the team and senior stakeholders, supporting decision-making and value creation for portfolio companies.
- The candidate must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in renewable energy project development, portfolio management, or a related field.
- The candidate must be very commercially minded and data-driven in their approach to project development and portfolio management.
