Job Description

The Product Data Science Lead at Octopus is responsible for developing data-driven products that support the company's mission to accelerate the green energy transition and enhance customer experience, reporting directly to the Global Head of Product.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build products that leverage data science to accelerate the green energy transition
  • Develop core data solutions to improve energy usage and customer experience
  • Collaborate with the Global Head of Product and senior leadership to align data science initiatives with company goals

Requirements

  • Experience as a data scientist with a proven track record of building products that accelerate the green transition and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to work on core data problems related to energy usage, customer behavior, and product development within the energy sector.
  • Experience reporting directly to senior leadership, specifically to the Global Head of Product or equivalent role.
  • Strong skills in data analysis, modeling, and product development related to energy data and customer insights.
  • Demonstrated ability to build impactful products that contribute to moving towards Net Zero emissions.
  • Proficiency in relevant data science tools, programming languages, and technologies used in energy data analysis (e.g., Python, R, SQL, etc.).
  • Experience working in a team environment and collaborating with cross-functional teams including product managers, engineers, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to understand and interpret complex energy data and translate it into actionable insights and products.
  • Experience in developing intelligent algorithms or models for time of use tariffs, energy consumption optimization, or similar energy-related applications.
  • A background in data science, computer science, engineering, or a related quantitative field with a relevant degree (e.g., Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD).
