The internship involves supporting the litigation and enforcement processes at Octopus Energy by managing operational tasks, collaborating with legal teams, and assisting customers in vulnerable situations to resolve energy account issues and debts.
Key Responsibilities
Manage accounts involved in litigation and enforcement processes, including making go/no-go decisions on actions.
Support customers in financial difficulty by finding appropriate solutions.
Resolve solicitor queries and intervene on customer accounts as needed.
Review litigation and enforcement outcomes and update third-party contacts accordingly.
Refine and develop operational processes related to litigation and enforcement.
Collaborate with colleagues, solicitors, High Court Enforcement Officers, and other agencies to support enforcement actions.
Assist customers in gaining control of their energy accounts, considering their vulnerability and affordability.
Assess and ensure quality of operational processes and third-party interactions.
Requirements
Support the litigation and enforcement pathway by managing essential back-end operational tasks, refining existing processes, and creating new ones.
Collaborate closely with colleagues, primarily on the development of litigation and enforcement, and support customers in resolving their issues.
Work with other specialists, solicitors, High Court Enforcement Officers, their agents, and the police to help resolve customer contact issues, obtain county court judgments, attachments of earnings, charging orders, high court writs, injunctions, and private prosecutions.
Support customers in getting control of their energy accounts, including creating sustainable routes to an energy-debt-free life, resolving historical COTs, industry and metering issues, and billing disputes.
Take responsibility for accounts in the litigation and enforcement processes, including making important go/no-go decisions on actions.
Help customers in financial difficulty find appropriate solutions.
Resolve solicitor queries and intervene on customer accounts where required.
Review outcomes of litigation and enforcement, and issue necessary amendments to our litigation and enforcement third parties.
Quality assess operational processes and third-party contact.
Be proactive and able to make informed and responsible decisions quickly.
Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Be able to prioritise and manage time effectively.
Willingness to identify opportunities for improving processes.
Be comfortable liaising with third-party agencies.
