Job Description

This internship offers hands-on experience in managing renewable energy assets such as wind, solar, and battery storage, focusing on monitoring performance, analyzing data, and supporting operational and financial decision-making within a dynamic asset management team at Octopus Energy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze wind and solar operational data to identify trends, anomalies, and performance gaps
  • Support monthly reporting processes by providing technical insights for stakeholders
  • Track and visualize key performance indicators across wind, solar, and battery assets
  • Assist with budgeting, energy production forecasting, and industry benchmarking
  • Manage operational incidents and maintenance trends to improve asset reliability
  • Contribute to construction risk mitigation and asset life-extension evaluations
  • Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes to maintain a competitive edge

Requirements

  • Candidates must identify with any Black, Black British, African, or Caribbean background, as the internship is only open to candidates from these backgrounds.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data handling, pivot tables, and formulas.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret numerical data and identify trends.
  • A structured approach to problem-solving and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn technical and commercial aspects of wind and solar operations.
  • Good communication skills to explain findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as in a team.
  • Interest in renewable energy, data analysis, and problem-solving.
  • Curiosity and passion for renewable energy, regardless of having a degree in engineering or finance.
  • Availability to work full-time from 6th July to 28th August at the London office.
