Job Description
The internship at Octopus Energy offers an opportunity to contribute to the company's mission of driving the renewable energy revolution by supporting operations that connect innovative energy solutions with customers, while promoting diversity and inclusion within the industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate the company's energy products and services effectively to customers
- Support the development and delivery of smart energy tariffs and solutions
- Assist in managing the global energy network and related technology platforms
- Contribute to initiatives that bridge the gap between customers and the energy supplier
Requirements
- Candidates must identify with any Black, Black British, African or Caribbean background, as the internship is only open to these candidates.
- Ability to demonstrate a passion for Octopus Energy's mission to drive the global renewable revolution and make green energy affordable for all.
- Strong interest in working within an energy company that focuses on innovation, customer service, and sustainability.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively convey information to customers and team members.
- Ability to work autonomously with a sense of responsibility and autonomy, aligned with the company's work culture.
- Willingness to participate in a program that promotes diversity and inclusiveness in the energy industry.
- Ability to prepare and submit a cover letter of no more than 500 words, explaining why the candidate is a good fit for the internship, their passions, and personal story.
- Candidates must not upload a CV but instead upload a cover letter as part of the application process.
- Candidates should be able to articulate a time when they went above and beyond to help someone else, demonstrating a proactive and caring attitude.
- Candidates should be able to teach or explain something unrelated to energy in a two-minute presentation, indicating communication skills and the ability to engage an audience.
