Job Description
The internship involves working as a Forecasting Data Scientist within a small team to develop and maintain time-series forecast models, data pipelines, and insights to predict energy demand for millions of accounts, supporting the company's energy markets operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Forecast energy demand for over 12 million accounts across gas and electricity.
- Build and maintain time-series forecast models for energy demand.
- Develop and manage data pipelines related to energy forecasting.
- Generate data insights to support the forecasting function.
- Provide forecast outputs for use by the Trading Risk teams.
Requirements
- Must be a candidate who identifies with any Black, Black British, African or Caribbean background, as the internship is only open to these candidates.

- Must be able to demonstrate a genuine interest in working in the energy industry and contributing to diversity and inclusiveness efforts.
- Must be able to join a small team of 5 Forecasting Data Scientists responsible for forecasting energy demand for over 12 million accounts across gas and electricity, serving 7 million households.
- Must have the ability to build and maintain time-series forecast models, data pipelines, and data insights within the forecasting function.
- Must have the skills and knowledge relevant to data science, specifically in forecasting, time-series analysis, and data pipeline development (implied by the role, though specific technical skills are not explicitly listed).
