Job Description
A Dual Fuel Smart Meter Engineer responsible for installing and demonstrating smart meters to customers, providing energy-saving advice, and supporting the renewable energy revolution while delivering excellent customer service within the Octopus Energy Services team.
Key Responsibilities
- Install dual fuel smart meters in customer homes
- Demonstrate and explain the operation of meters and in-home displays to customers
- Educate customers on energy-saving features and benefits related to green energy
- Ensure safety and customer service excellence during installations
- Support continuous process improvements and adapt to evolving procedures
Requirements
- Experience as a smart meter engineer with a proven track record of safety and customer excellence.
- Ability to represent the company's brands professionally in customers' homes.
- Comfortable communicating with customers, including explaining how meters and in-home displays work, how they can help save energy, and answering questions about green energy initiatives.
- Willingness to perform meter fitting and installation tasks.
- Ability to demonstrate understanding of how meters and in-home displays operate and their benefits to customers.
- Availability to support the delivery of top-class service as part of the Octopus Energy Services team.
- Willingness to adapt to evolving processes and shift focus from administrative tasks to customer service, supported by company technology.
- Ability to complete the company's typical onboarding process, which usually takes up to 4 weeks, with flexibility as needed.
- Good communication skills to interact effectively with the recruitment team and support staff throughout the hiring process.
