Job Description
A Dual Fuel Smart Meter Engineer responsible for installing and demonstrating smart meters to customers, providing energy-saving advice, and supporting the renewable energy revolution while delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Install dual fuel smart meters in customers' homes
- Demonstrate how meters and in-home displays work to customers
- Educate customers on energy saving benefits and green energy initiatives
- Ensure safety and customer service excellence during installations
- Support continuous process improvements and adapt to evolving procedures
Requirements
- Experience as a smart meter engineer with a track record of safety and customer excellence.
- Ability to represent the company's brands in customers' homes and communicate effectively with customers.
- Comfortable explaining how meters and in-home displays work, demonstrating energy-saving benefits, and answering questions about green energy.
- Willingness to perform meter installations and customer interactions as part of the role.
- Ability to work as part of a team supported by office staff and backed by Octopus Energy's technology infrastructure.
- Availability to complete the process within approximately 4 weeks, with flexibility to accommodate individual circumstances.
- Good communication skills to engage with customers and team members throughout the process.
- Honest and empathetic attitude, aligned with the company's values of decency and fairness.
