Job Description
The role involves leading the development and evaluation of algorithms for self-driving vehicle systems, working cross-functionally to improve autonomous performance and scalability, and guiding a team of engineers in advancing robotics and AI technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deploy algorithms to evaluate the performance of ML models powering the self-driving vehicle.
- Work cross-functionally to set and improve the evaluation frameworks and technical roadmap.
- Leverage evaluation algorithms to identify performance improvements and drive technical execution.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Statistics, Physics, Math, or another quantitative area.
- At least 5 years of industry experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Python through past work.
- Technical skills in AI, Machine Learning, and robotics to set a clear vision for the team.
- Ability to evaluate the pros and cons of technical decisions and choose the right outcome.
- Exercise exceptional technical judgment.
- Strong desire to learn and grow technical knowledge.
- Domain expertise in AI, Machine Learning, robotics, and/or evaluation.
- Inherent sense of urgency and championing fast and high-quality technical execution.
- Ability to earn the respect and trust of an organization of talented individuals.
- Excellent communication skills to clearly explain decision-making processes and outcomes.
- Ability to get everyone onboard with a unified vision.
- Experience working with AI Platform teams to communicate dependencies and ensure team success.
- Experience in hiring, creating, organizing, and fostering world-class autonomy engineering teams and culture.
- Ability to inspire team members to grow their skills and drive impact for the company.
Benefits & Perks
Compensation/salary range between $235,030 and $352,290, plus potential annual performance bonus and equity
