Job Description
A Senior Systems Test Engineer at Nuro is responsible for developing and automating validation processes for autonomous driving systems, ensuring safety and compliance through comprehensive testing and collaboration across engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Create requirements for autonomous system safety and compliance within its operational design domain (ODD).
- Design and implement verification metrics and acceptance criteria to ensure system requirements are met.
- Develop and manage diverse testing strategies, including simulation, on-road logs, and closed-course testing, to verify system performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop acceptance criteria and automate verification workflows.
- Quantify test coverage and relevance for deployment, linking test results to the Autonomy Safety Case.
Requirements
- 5 years of technical work experience in a relevant area with 3 years of experience with testing of autonomous vehicles robotic systems.
- Hands-on software experience with the ability to code in Python or C for automation and tooling development.
- Experience in designing, implementing, and managing large scale simulation or test automation pipelines.
- Strong understanding of systems engineering concepts related to autonomy architecture, particularly how sensing, perception, prediction, and planning modules interact.
