Job Description
The role involves leading the mechanical design and development of autonomous vehicle hardware solutions, overseeing the full product lifecycle, and collaborating across engineering teams to ensure high-quality, scalable, and innovative autonomous driving systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Research, design, and deliver autonomous hardware solutions including electronics packaging, sensor packaging, and vehicle integrations.
- Manage the full product lifecycle from prototype development to production ramp-up.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with electrical, software, planning, procurement, and manufacturing teams to ensure product excellence and performance.
- Support and oversee the industrialization and manufacturing processes of mechanical systems and modules.
- Lead and develop a large engineering team, fostering a culture of accountability, technical rigor, and career growth.
Requirements
- B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or a related technical field.
- Professional engineering experience of 8 years, with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing teams.
- Demonstrated excellence in mechanical design and delivering complex mechanical products at low and high volumes.
- Experience with automotive or consumer electronics product cycles, including qualification, validation, and high-volume manufacturing.
- A strong communicator that can interact with working level engineers, internal leadership, and key external suppliers to advocate on behalf of mechanical design to produce the best possible product.
- Proven ability to recruit, mentor, and scale a world-class engineering organization.
- Self-starter with strong organizational, multi-tasking, and project management skills.
- Relentlessly resourceful, with a bias towards action.
