Job Description
The Fleet Support Specialist is responsible for maintaining, supporting, and deploying Nuro's autonomous robots on public roads, including performing repairs, operational tasks, and ensuring safety standards through hands-on work and collaboration with technical teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Intervene and deploy robots, including startups, shutdowns, and public road support
- Participate in vehicle repairs and maintenance tasks
- Operate trucks with trailers to load and unload assets on public roads
- Support and sustain robot operations during public road testing and private events
- Perform fueling, charging, cleaning, and supply runs for robots and fleet vehicles
- Replace tires on robots and fleet vehicles
- Conduct daily vehicle checks and document tasks and issues in the Fleet Tracking system
- Maintain safety standards while operating company vehicles
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to operate trucks with trailers to load and unload company assets on public roads
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in a variety of physical conditions
- Ability to use fine motor skills to accomplish duties involving handheld remote controls requiring finger dexterity
- Experience using detailed work instructions, diagrams, and engineering drawings to carry out maintenance tasks of low to medium complexity
- Some experience using commands and scripts to navigate computer systems from work instructions
- Experience using Google Suite
- Experience monitoring and documenting tests
- Effectively communicates and collaborates with Fleet Technicians, Fleet Management, and other cross functional teams
- Willingness for occasional travel to other locations
- Participation in a 30-day training phase to determine skill proficiency
- Completion of a 90-day probationary period
