Job Description

The Cybersecurity Analyst at Nexamp will be responsible for protecting the organization's computer systems, networks, and data from potential threats and vulnerabilities, while continuously monitoring for suspicious activity and implementing security measures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Continuously monitor alerts for suspicious activity and potential threats.
  • Implement and manage security tools and technologies.
  • Respond to security breaches and incidents promptly and effectively.
  • Conduct thorough investigations to determine the cause and extent of breaches.
  • Document and report incidents, actions taken, and outcomes.
  • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments.
  • Identify security weaknesses and recommend remediation actions.
  • Assist with Risk Identification and Remediation.
  • Work with IT teams to implement security patches and updates.
  • Develop and deliver security awareness training programs for employees.
  • Implement Data Loss Prevention Controls.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Information Security, or a relevant field, or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a comparable role, especially implementing vulnerability management and security alert monitoring.
  • Entry-level Blue Team Certifications and beginner-level security certifications such as Security Blue Team Level 1, Level 2, Security+, CEH, PenTest, or Azure Cloud Security Certifications.
  • Specific knowledge of securing Microsoft environments, including both Windows endpoints, M365 resources, and Azure environments.
  • Experience with Microsoft Security Suite including Microsoft Defender suite and Sentinel.
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating information, ideas, and perspectives with people inside and beyond the organization.
  • Experience in showcasing initiative to make improvements to current work, processes, products, and services across the organization.
  • Ability to ask appropriate questions, analyze data, identify the root causes of problems, and present creative solutions.
