Job Description
The Customer Collections Specialist at Nexamp is responsible for managing customer accounts by contacting clients with outstanding balances, processing payments, investigating collection issues, and providing exceptional customer service to support the company's clean energy mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Contact customers with outstanding balances via statements, mail, email, and phone calls to collect payments.
- Investigate and resolve collections issues, escalating as necessary.
- Deliver exceptional customer service during all interactions.
- Use multiple systems (Salesforce, Zuora, Nexamp Portal) to review, document, and resolve collection cases.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure proper handling of collection cases.
- Maintain accurate records of collections activities and processes.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least 2 years of professional experience, ideally in a collections related role
- Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written
- Knowledge of Billing and Collections procedures
- Proficient in Excel, typing, and computer navigation skills
- Self-motivated, self-starting, and self-assured
- Strict attention to detail in professional client-facing communication
- Ability to work well with multiple diverse groups and collaborate as part of a team
- Comfortable working in a changing growing environment

- Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating information, ideas, and perspectives with people inside and beyond the organization
- Experience in showcasing initiative to make improvements to current work, processes, products, and services across the organization
- Ability to ask appropriate questions, analyze data, identify root causes of problems, and present creative solutions
- Expertise in building strong internal and external relationships with customers and stakeholders, instilling trust and loyalty
- Eagerness to develop a fundamental understanding of how Nexamp operates and apply that knowledge to inform business decisions
