Job Description

A Community Engagement Representative at Nexamp is responsible for building relationships within the local community to promote and enroll participants in the company's Community Solar program, focusing on grassroots outreach, education, and trust-building to expand renewable energy adoption.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, educate, and enroll small businesses and residents in the Community Solar program
  • Build relationships with community organizations, nonprofits, and local leaders to promote Nexamp's initiatives
  • Conduct on-the-ground outreach to educate communities about Community Solar benefits
  • Represent Nexamp as a trusted energy partner in the community
  • Secure referral partners for residential customer acquisition
  • Report community feedback and outreach results to management
  • Identify potential candidates for customer acquisition and track outreach efforts
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to improve outreach strategies

Requirements

  • Experience in door-to-door canvassing, ideally in political campaigns, community organizing, or grassroots sales.
  • Partnership management or sales experience with non-profits or small businesses preferred.
  • Strong community connections or ability to build trust quickly in Bangor and the surrounding area.
  • Self-motivated, outgoing, and excellent at face-to-face communication.
  • Comfortable working independently and in an incentive-based role.
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating information, ideas, and perspectives with people inside and beyond your organization.
  • Experience in showcasing initiative to make improvements to current work, processes, products, and services across the organization.
  • Ability to ask appropriate questions, analyze data, identify the root causes of problems, and present creative solutions.
  • Expertise in building strong internal and external relationships with customers and stakeholders, instilling trust and loyalty across the industry.
  • Eagerness to develop a fundamental understanding of how Nexamp operates and then apply that knowledge effectively to inform business decisions.
  • Willingness to travel as the role is based out of the Versant Bangor Hydro area.
