Job Description

New Leaf Energy compensates all employees in three ways: market-competitive base salary, plus above-market variable compensation, plus an equity-like program such that all employees experience the benefits of ownership.

Key Responsibilities

  • The Project Manager, IPP (“PM”) is responsible for the day-to-day execution of projects during construction and commissioning. This role manages contractors, schedules, budgets, and site activities to ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with approved plans. The PM operates within established cost, schedule, and technical frameworks and escalates risks, changes, and issues in accordance with the IPP’s organizational and governance structures.
  • Project Execution
  • Lead day-to-day execution of assigned projects to commercial operation.
  • Serve as the IPP’s primary point of contact for EPC contractors, major suppliers, and third-party inspectors during construction, escalating commercial disputes or high-impact technical issues
  • Support commissioning, performance testing, and punch-list resolution.
  • Prepare and organize COD documentation and turnover materials.
  • Review EPC Contractor and vendor compliance with PWA, insurance, and other contract requirements
  • Identify and document contractor performance issues or contract deviations, escalating to senior leadership for formal notice preparation and resolution
  • Assist in organizing commissioning schedules, tracking punch-list items to completion, and compiling turnover documentation for the Asset Management team.
  • Schedule, Cost, and Reporting
  • Maintain and update detailed project schedules and construction plans.
  • Track weekly project expenditures against approved budget, update progress tracking models, and review contractor invoices against progress tracking models.
  • Prepare accurate, timely project reports for senior leadership, lenders, and internal stakeholders.
  • Identify schedule and cost risks early and escalate with clear documentation and recommendations.
  • Change Management
  • Identify potential changes in scope, cost, or schedule and initiate change orders.
  • Coordinate technical evaluation with the Director of Engineering and commercial review with senior leadership.
  • Log potential change orders, collect backup documentation (cost estimates, schedule impacts) from contracts, and support senior management in reviewing change order packages.
  • Implement approved changes and track execution impacts.
  • Quality, Safety and Compliance
  • Conduct routine site visits, safety observations, and progress verification.
  • Coordinate factory acceptance testing logistics, schedules, and documentation with vendors, EPCs, and Engineering.
  • Escalate safety incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
  • Support incident investigations and corrective action implementation in coordination with senior leadership and contractors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • At least three years of renewable energy construction or project management experience (IPP or EPC).
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, contractor management, and site safety.
  • Experience supporting change management and contract administration.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and escalation judgment.

Benefits & Perks

  • New Leaf Energy’s success is driven by our collaborative, long-term relationships based on trust and transparency. We offer a flexible work environment that places significant responsibility in independent teams and creates opportunities for innovation and personal growth. New Leaf Energy’s benefits are designed to appropriately recognize our employees’ contributions and enable a reasonable work/life balance. Our benefits include:
  • Competitive salaries and comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental and vision;
  • A 401k plan with immediate vesting and a company match (100% of the first three percent of your pay; 50% for the next two percent you contribute);
  • An open and self-managed paid time-off policy;
  • A hybrid work location policy that supports working from home for part of the week;
  • A parental leave policy for both birthing and non-birthing parents, available immediately upon hire;
  • Professional development and education assistance.
